What Will Happen to My Genealogical Legacy– After I’m Gone?”
The GSCC Canadian 🇨🇦eSIG is hosting a virtual PowerPoint presentation via ZOOM titled “What Will Happen to My Genealogical Legacy — After I’m Gone?” on Tuesday, March 28 at 2 PM (Eastern) with Al Turner, a Canadian 🇨🇦eSIG facilitator, as the presenter. The event will cover essential steps that genealogists can take now to prevent the loss of years of genealogical research. The presentation is not restricted to Canadian genealogy and is expected to be of interest to any genealogist.
The discussion will cover topics such as documenting an inventory of genealogical assets, including hardcopy, digital, and online resources. It will also cover suggestions on including these assets in current estate plans, protecting data by backing up and futureproofing it, and finding a successor or administrator to fulfill your wishes. The presentation will also discuss donating your research to an archive that will accept the work and donating hard copies, books, and magazines to libraries and repositories. Participants will be provided with a handout.
A round table/workshop will be held after the presentation to discuss the program and Canadian genealogical subjects. The Canadian 🇨🇦eSIG is a group that supports fellow genealogists, and those on the Canadian 🇨🇦eSIG email listing will automatically receive an invitation to the ZOOM meeting.
